Hello! This is a long ago childhood acquaintance of Gil - Layli Strasburg (now Layli Liss). It's fun to see Gil and his family! Congratulations on all the successes. My mother, AnnaLee Strasburg, would like to get in touch with Gil's father, Gil, Sr. I would be most happy to hear back from Gil, Jr. and relay the contact information of his father, if he is so willing. Allah'u-Abha!

I would be very interested to know the current location of the Hudson River Quilt. My grandmother, Janet Fiori, did the George Washington Bridge square described in the 1990 New York Times article. This quilt is a major milestone in the history of this form of expressive activism, and obviously I am very proud of my grandmother's small role in it.

We have the Hudson River Quilt done by Irene Preston Miller and quilting friends in our Glencoe art materials. I was looking for a biography.

The virtue classes are exactly what I have been envisioning the ideal of education. It's even better that the classes bring in religious aspect, which has been so central to many people of different cultures.

I wonder where I can find more info on the 900 virtue classes that the NPR program mentioned. Any futher info would be appreciated.

oh and btw I found your blog from hearing your story on NPR. do you come up on the lessons on your own...or is there a greater community out there for these kind of classes. My husband is Catholic and I am Baptist and our friends are Buddhist and yet my mother’s husband is Baha’i... We currently do not attend church for many reasons, But I love this idea of coming together as a community and learning about God, Virtues, and other faiths!

Just did a search and am gratified to learn of Irene Miller. She remains a true beacon for me in my remembrances of The Niddy Noddy. It was a true haven for knitter's and fiber enthusiasts and I learned a lot from her and always felt encouraged.
It's lovely to see her beaming happiness with her family. Thanks for sharing. Blessings & Peace

I was doing a search and stumbled onto this blog and was so surprised to see Layli and her family. My name is Brandy (Jackson) and I went to school with Layli back in Roswell (Crabapple M/S). I came over to your house for firesides (I think that's what they were called) ... and had such fond times with her back in the day. Please let her know I said "hello" and I hope she is doing well.
