Layli graduated form Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, then attended American University School of Law. After working for a short period for the Justice Department, she joined Arnold & Porter law firm in Washington. Without retelling a story most of you know, she then founded the Tahirih Justice Center.

Layli, Gil and Serena live in the Washington DC area. Layli is now pregnant with her second child, also a girl. Layli continues her work as Executive Director of the Tahirih Justic Center while Gil is now finishing his MBA at George Washington University.

Here are the mandatory photos of Layli at the helm. The first pictures was taken on Calabogue Sound south of Hilton Head, where we kept our boat and sailed for many, many, years.

Here is Layli at a very young age, when she looked like Shirely Temple and kids would pay her a quarter to sing The Good Ship Lolipop, which she did.

I was doing a search and stumbled onto this blog and was so surprised to see Layli and her family. My name is Brandy (Jackson) and I went to school with Layli back in Roswell (Crabapple M/S). I came over to your house for firesides (I think that’s what they were called) … and had such fond times with her back in the day. Please let her know I said “hello” and I hope she is doing well.
